Additional Information
As mentioned at the top, this game was made as part of a game development challenge. This means a couple of things:
- Expect some bugs and issues. It's an ambitious game for the timeframe and that does mean a lot of things haven't been ironed out. Nothing from testing has proven game-breaking, so you can still get in there and enjoy the game, but keep it in mind.
- Secondly, this game represents the core and essence of a much bigger idea. A bigger world, deeper behaviours, more settings, stronger visuals, biomes, vehicles, levelling, upgrades etc etc. The list goes on. But I hope this gives a good taste into what could be...
Performance
I want to make one final note about performance. On Epic settings at 1080p, an RTX 3070ti (gpu) and Ryzen 9 3900x (cpu), will run the game at around 45-60 fps (dependent on world location)
Graphical settings are available in game, so you can finetune the visual/performance balance you want.
But you can use the specs above as a rough benchmark for your own.
I do hope you enjoy this game and make sure to check out the journey in creating this as part of a game development challenge over on TheMagicTorch.
Also feel free to check out my other games on my profile here on itch.io. All free to play and hopefully you find some fun on there!
Thank you!

hey I love the game but cant find the gallery
Hey! It's part of the laptop. So when inside the Jeep, if you look at the laptop and press the E key - you'll open up the gallery. From here you can view, delete and edit photos you have taken.
add swimming add a character model because the shadow makes you eerie just seeing a floating camera add a faster jeep and the dinosaurs more spread out and hard to find to make a point to the game to take pictures of all the dinosaurs to collect achievements reverse the roar of the t rex and raptor so your game does not get taken down from Universal studios and Amblin studios but I love this game it's fun just add objectives and how do you enter the gallery idk how to do it maybe make a tutorial and do something with the left click on the mouse this game is very good it's fun it's a bit weird when the dinosaurs spawn on a rock or a tree stump they don't move and add more dinosaurs or species not just dinosaurs maybe the Pteranodon or a lizard my list of dinosaurs to add is Pachyrhinosaurus, allosaurus and nigersaurus or if they have a pack like the dinosaurs in the game just add those things I wrote and add night time 25 min day 5 min night please respond from McBob_plays.
more dinos and night time please great video i saw it.
Great game. I saw your YouTube vid and shared it with several people who will love it. Just an FYI its running great on high settings on my Ryzan 5 2600, Radeon RX 580 and 32GB RAM.
saw on youtube love a no violance game!!
Got recommended the tube video and finally had a chance to watch it. I have been wanting to see a game like this for a while but only indie horror games have come out. Thank you so so much for putting the extra effort in and also just bringing your idea to life!! I'm surprised you aren't charging for it?? It seems like unrealengine is more of a hinderence than a help which it is advertised to be... :/
Thank you very much for playing the game! I'm glad the game is something you've been wanting to see. It seems like there's a lot who also want to see a Dinosaur game like this come to life, which has been great to see.
Unreal Engine has generally been very good, but in this case, it definitely made things much more challenging unfortunately!
Thank you for taking the time to comment - I appreciate you playing the game!
this is a very fun game! i loved driving around and seeing random dinos , really felt like in a documentary or smth, i actually took so many photos tht when i open up the gallery the game always crashes lol, tho its fine since its prob just my laptop cant handling it, its ok tho i can still screenshot the stuff. Overall AMAZINNNN
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the game, that's awesome to hear!
The gallery crash is interesting. I've not had that issue on my end. I know the more photos you have, the longer it will take to load. I wonder if the game is timing out due to so much loading. Thank you for letting me know about it!
no problem!
i now found a solution to the gallery crashing, its just going to file explorer and saving most of the pictures to windows gallery so that the game dosent crash due to the amount of photos. Now everything is working as it should be!
how to play the game
In what way? As in, how to download it?
i just cant extract it... :(
I've just uploaded the game again but this time I've compressed it using Windows instead of 7zip, so I'm hoping it might work for you now.
If you could try again whenever you get chance and let me know how you get on, that would be great! Thank you!
i keep getting error 0x80004005 when trying to extract it
Hey! Are you trying to extract using windows default extractor? Or have you tried with another extractor like 7zip?
Others have had similar issues and using 7zip has solved it.
Hey! Came from your devlog on this! Awesome concept and really cool how it all came together.
I will say that having a way for people to change the audio sounds outside of their system audio would be a great improvement for the next game.
Next, I run 32 gigs of ram and have a Ryzen 7 1700X and I simply CANNOT get the game to run on anything except low settings. I know you mentioned you had issues with this in the devlog, but if it helps at all, just wanted you to be aware. Also my CPU is running marathons running it haha.
Needed to use the 7ZIP trick too. Not sure why using the default Windows extractor is such an enemy to this one.
Amazing work!
Hey! Thanks for watching the video and then coming over to here - really appreciate it!
Good idea! I'll keep this in mind for next time, thank you!
I'm very sorry you're having performance issues. As I mentioned in the video, this was my big concern with it. So it's a real shame that the performance is forcing you to play on low settings.
If I do revisit this game in the future, getting the performance more reliable will be my priority. Hopefully, it's something you and others in similar situations can play at higher settings one day.
The windows extractor not working is a weird one. I'm assuming it's something to do with the way 7zip archived it. I'll have to keep this in mind as well for next time.
Thank you again for checking it out!
insane game
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
yeah its pretty fun and the graphics makes it even more fun to play, it ran on 30 fps the experience was fun and i love it im playing it everyday
Please help me! I can’t get this game to work at all! Whenever I try to extract the files, I keep getting errors saying it can’t copy the files!
Hey! That's strange. A couple of things you could check:
- Do you have enough hard drive space on the drive you are trying to copy it to?
- What are you trying to extract the files with? I personally use something called 7zip.
- This might sound stupid but it's worth checking the simple things - Did the file fully download?
Let me know how you get on!
I was using Windows’ default at first, but I just tried it with 7zip, and it worked first try! Thanks for the help! Hopefully the game itself will work first try too.
Glad you got it working! I don't know why Windows is having trouble with it. Maybe it's the way it was archived or something...
Try extracting with 7zip or other decompressor app instead of the windows native zip tool - I had the same issue but all was good with 7zip
